Hi everyone!

Welcome to my blog for Digital Art 1. My name is Nick May and I’m a senior at CU Boulder. I live in Las Vegas and some of my personal interests include motorsports, making music, sports and overall just being active and doing something. I became a Film major at CU my sophomore year because I am really interested in film-making and recording moments from my life and creating narratives to share with other people. Along with my interest of film-making I really enjoy the platform of photography. Over the years I have experimented with cameras, drones and other photography tools to capture things that I personally enjoy. Up until now the photos I have taken represent significant moments that I want to remember in my life. For example, the beauty of some places, the busyness of others and great moments spent with family and friends. The only experimentation I’ve done with photography so far is with the in-camera settings in order to produce the image I envision in my mind. I have never really experimented with transforming images into art however, until this last summer. I took a class called Writing in the Visual Arts and learned about art history and different perspectives on art since the early 19thcentury. After learning more about art in general I now want to try and incorporate the technological aspect I have been using the last 3-4 years into making some of my own art, which is ultimately why I took this course since its called Digital Art 1. This semester I hope to learn how to integrate the technological aspect of photography that I love with the vast possibilities art has to offer to create my first Digital Art projects.
