This project was quite difficult for me. I produce music and DJ at quite a bit so to make a song that was not suppose to be a song was quite difficult. In the back of my mind at all times I had a beat in mind just based on the sounds I was putting into the project and it was difficult because more than once I had to go back and change it to make it “worse” in a way. During critiques I also noticed that my project was quite a bit different than everyone else’s projects in regards to the sounds used. Most people made the sounds that were recorded amongst students as the dominant sound in the project and then built around them using pianos and other notes. I however used a lot of the synths that are built into garage band. I was aware that these sounds make the basis of a song but together I thought that they created something random and different enough to be valid for this project. I also did a piano tack throughout the entire project which is the most dominant part the audience hears. I then added the sound bytes recorded from all of the students to underlay on the piano. Together I thought it created something quite unique and upbeat. I thought this captured me as a person since I like to have fun in life and the track I produced was overall very upbeat and cheerful.
